In this episode Mark and Debbie talk more on the subject of dating, letting someone have veto power in who you date, why pre-marital sex is a problem, and the idea that you should be happy with yourself before getting married, not relying on marriage to make you happy.

    only a 5% divorce …
only a 5% divorce rate in countries where arranged marriage is common. Well this are also the countries where women would be probably stoned to death when they’d propose divorce. What an annoying guy!!

    I don’t understand …
I don’t understand why people rate you down, because you are right.. A lot of non-christians will dismiss what he says and use the christianity part as an excuse to not believe anything he says here, even if he’s right. That’s how people think nowadays and it’s sad..

    No. The problem is …
No. The problem is people are uptight. Chill. Screw marriage. Its a piece of paper. Screw your stupid Christian “morals.” There’s nothing wrong with meeting someone and being “Hey. I’m attractive. Your attractive. Lets fool around.” (and be safe about it kiddies) And what’s this religious crap… Is this guy nuts? See my pastor if you want to date me? How much acid has this guy been on? pre-marital sex? who cares. Maybe the problem is we are talking about pre marital sex and not murder and war.

I think mark might say “Get over it”. They have an episode about people who feel unciomfortable.
Btw you need a little contrast, you need someone who won’t steal the spotlight from mark. She needs to grow into the role so give her some time.

  11. Bagsy84 Says:

    In the philippines …
In the philippines theres no divorce but theres anulment which is just a workaround to avoid making priests angry.. renaming it. like marriage vs civil union.

  12. Bagsy84 Says:

Interesting you say that there is no divorce in those countries.. Hmm so the 5% is illegal divorce? Selah

    If you listen to …
If you listen to his normal routine you will see that his co host does every little thing that ruins relationships. Please some one get that lady new job. she keep on trying too hard to be heard by interrupting him therefore keeping him from what he is really trying to say. She keep try to usurp his authority.

  14. Dwynfal Says:

    I wish Gungor would …
I wish Gungor would get Christianity and God out of his advice because he says is universal. If you can exclude that, then what he says is important. Arranged marriages often last the distance, but why??? Because they are happy together or because their culture prohibits divorce? I am the last to say you should pull the plug at the first difficulty, but if you don’t have the opportunity to do so at *any* time then it’s not a proper gauge for whether or not you are happily partnered…

Its not an Arab or …
Its not an Arab or Muslim thing… Its the Eastern culture… In India, in China… Korea and Japan… This is the culture… or has been atleast for thousands of years….

  16. lazarus640 Says:

    So what. However …
So what. However the bible and God’s prophet forbade polygamy. Solomon was led astray through polygamy while david repented of polygamy. The bible records that polygamy led to jealousy, divide families and led people astray.

Why would God send prophets to Mohammed and Joseph Smith now justifying their polygamy?

  17. joojiandmemo Says:

    This stuff about …
This stuff about early marriage and arranged marriages is already a normal everyday thing in the Arab and Muslim life. Americans used to say Muslims are corrupt and wierdos. But here you go, a Christian telling you to marry early and to ask ur family to help u choose. In Islam a girl cannot get married without the permission of her father or other male guardian if her father is not there. this protacts the girl and the husband knows there’s a family that will ask about their daughter.

  19. skyxkami Says:

    I’m …
I’m Vietnamese-American. I was raised in a Buddhist, “pagan”, environment. My values are love, patience, kindness and forgiveness. I learned these values on my own. Not from Buddhist or Christian text.

  20. skyxkami Says:

    You’re right that …
You’re right that people should be going out there and doing things for themselves. People shouldn’t be relying on God or gods to supernaturally give them a fish.

My long winded point finally is that Christian or not, people should have values. Good values so that the human race can come to an understanding. If only 50 Christians can agree with each other, then how can 6 billion PEOPLE?

  21. skyxkami Says:

    Before I say …
Before I say anything, I just want to let you know that I think you’re a rare man that gives Christianity a good name. Few people use logic and reason these days and use God as a personal convenience.

That having been said; I don’t think you should draw a line between Christians and “pagans”. Maybe when you said this, what you had in mind were candle burning, hood wearing fanatics who wish miracles from their gods. These are people who take no personal responsibility and blame outside forces.
