Does any find mags, articles or books on dating and relationships hilarious? My friend had one today, so I skimmed through a few pages and it was a joke. Mostly it was full of stereotypes and the author’s point of view of both genders, I guess most of these types of books are like that. I suppose the author is just trying to make a buck or two, can’t blame them.
Most of the topics were:
He likes you if..
She likes you if..
The secret to women..
The secret to men..
Become an alpha male or female
These kinds of books make me laugh. Why do people even read these, because no 2 people are alike so books not going to help.
Why would anyone read these let alone take them seriously? You know that it’s just the authors opinions and what they want to believe. They know about as much as the next person on dating and relationships. Why do some people take the authors advise so seriously?
The best "advice" I ever read was this:
A relationship will run the most smoothly when the woman is getting everything she wants.
!!!! Basically the entire premise was that the man’s function in the relationship is to cowtow to the woman and be her little slave. I actually sent in an email to the person who wrote it. She never got back to me. lol

Their stupid and very vague, its kind of like reading horoscopes, in the way that it seems to only pertain to people who are leading fast paced lives, or have something exciting going on.
The worst is when these mags give women false information on what to do to men in the bedroom, talk about awkward! LOL

Those books are just a very general guidelines and I normally just read for fun and entertainment.
I guess that those who take those advices seriously may be quite desperate at the moment…
My opinion is that since we know the person we are seeing more than the author do, we can read the advices but it is totally up to us to judge and decide. If you believe in God, ask for His wisdom to help you to decide.

They seem to presume a cookie-cutter image of men and women. This is where they fail. But, taking it with a grain of salt, I have seen a few gems of solid advice that work in real life.
Why would anyone read these? The male/female dynamic is forever changing along with society. So, maybe someone felt that there would be some useful tidbit that would be applicable to their situation.
